In 1933, an ambitious young Welsh reporter named Gareth Jones is looking for his next big story. News of Moscow being a hot spot leads him to the wild metropolis. During a hedonistic party near the Kremlin, he meets a lover, Ada Brooks, an American journalist who reveals that the truth about the “Soviet utopia” is being violently repressed.

Gareth starts to put the pieces together. The death threats begin. On the run from the Soviet secret police, bit by bit he uncovers the truth of Stalin’s regime. The censorship. The conspiracies. The bloodbath.

Gareth makes it back to London unscathed and meets a young author, a man by the name of George Orwell. He shares his findings with his new friend, shortly before Soviet agents catch up with him, murdering him in cold blood.

But Gareth’s work finds a home as the basis of Orwell’s scathing allegory, Animal Farm. The truth cannot be suppressed.
